Around my neck of the woods, people get uncooped by going to a cabin someplace, which sounds like an oxymoron. Getting uncooped by getting cooped, I mean. Except if the cabin is one of these floating jobs. Talk about lakefront.
This little gem belongs to Margy and Wayne Lutz and floats on Powell Lake in British Columbia. The 2-story, 20' x 21' cabin sits upon a main 40' x 40' float and has additional satellite floats that house a woodshed and even a vegetable garden. The Lutz’ bought their cabin in 2001 for about $25K U.S. They have a 20-year water lease from the BC government and pay property taxes. Hello campergirl - I see you have found some pictures of my little piece of paradise. We love living in our float cabin. You might think such a small place would make you feel cooped, but you have the whole outdoors (and lake) right at your doorstep. Drop a line in teh water, hike up the hill, sun on the deck or just snuggle up the the cozy wood stove during the winter and listen to the rain on the roof. Come on over to http://PowellRiverBooks.blogspot.com to see more about our lifestyle and our wonderful cabin. - Margy
