Biodegradable Soap and Shampoo. Skip the chemicals, which are bad for you and the environment. An easy-to-find brand is Kirk's Castile.

The portable fire pit. This might seem unnecessary at first, but a portable fire pit--either home made or store bought--can prevent forest fires and preserve the area around your campfire. Corn-based garbage bags. Picking up after yourself is a must when you're out camping, but traditional garbage bags can pose a problem. If one should happen to blow away, it can endanger wildlife.
