Low-tech Poision Ivy and Insect Bite Treatment

I've been using Fels-Naptha soap to pre-treat my laundry for awhile now, but only recently did I find out that my Eagle Scout of a husband used to use it as a preventative for poison ivy outbreaks back when he was a kid. Yesterday, however, we found out another cool use for this power-house bar soap. After a particularly mosquito-laden geocaching trek into a heavily foliaged area, hubby came down with a severe case of the itchies. He was pretty certain it was just mosquito bites that were causing his discomfort, but just in case, when we came come, he washed up with Fels-Naptha. And surprise of surprises, the soap stopped the itching of the mosquito bites. Fels-Naptha is cheap--about $1.25 to $1.75 a bar--and can be found at most grocery stores. If not, you can order it online. It's a must-have for the uncooper as this multi-tasker will get out your grass stains too!
