And now for the bad news: The Ski Area Citizens’ Coalition survey of US ski resorts and their impact on the environment also provided a bottom ten list as well. Those resorts that graded the worst (getting F’s and D’s) are as follows:
- Copper Mountain - Colorado
- Breckenridge Ski Resort - Colorado
- Sun Valley Resort - Idaho
- Kirkwood Mountain Resort - California
- Brundage Mountain Resort - Idaho
- Crystal Mountain Ski Area - Washington
- White Pass Ski Area - Washington
- Crested Butte Mountain Resort - Colorado
- Winter Park Resort - Colorado
- 49 Degrees North Resort - Washington
Note: the Coalition only reviews resorts in the USA and, so far, not those smaller, hometown resorts. For more information about the 10 brownest resorts, visit Ski Area Citizens’ Coalition. For the top 10 greenest resorts, go here. Via Treehugger.
