Trip Report: Skiing in Summit County, Colorado

I just got back from a weekend of great skiing in Summit County, CO. We stayed in the small town of Frisco, which is conveniently located about 20 minutes from Vail, Copper Mountain, Keystone, Breckenridge, and Arapahoe Basin.
Spring skiing has it detractors, but I absolutely loved it, and we thought the snow was excellent (they had around 100 inches of base and we got 5-6 inches of powder while we were there).
Highlights:
- the back bowls at Vail, especially skiing in the ravines in a snowfall so heavy you couldn't see the mountain above or below you.
- strapping a camcorder onto my brother's helmet using twisty-ties and velcro we bought at Wal-Mart, only to find out after we got down the hill that we never turned the camera on.
- Whole wheat pancakes at the Butterhorn Bakery in Frisco. Oh my god ... I had no idea pancakes could be so good.
Lowlights:
- Finding out a college kid who went missing in Breckenridge two months ago was found in the snow near town. Really sad.
- The PT Cruiser we rented, specifically: driving it through the mountains in snow. What a crappy car!
- Realizing how hard it is to find good downhill skiing in Minnesota!

The view from our hotel room.

Me being super-dorky.
