Bicyclists Targeted

Posted May 13, 2008 in Talk | 47 views | 1 comment

biker

I am a little mixed on this issue as one who bikes to commute and ride, and who also drives a car when I have to. One of our news station did a report on this and I was appalled at the lack of outcry from the biking community and the support from the driving community

See it here!

I will maybe add more comments later, but to me this was the worst journalism I've ever seen. I just wish they would have asked me why I didn't stop at a 3-way stop sign where I was on the outside with no chance to be hit unless the driver turned into the shoulder...

I would love to know others' thoughts.

I'm with you, when I saw the promos for this piece, I literally turned to my wife and said "This is the stupidest thing I've ever seen". I'll grant you that some bicyclists disobey traffic laws to a dangerous extent (I used to be an 8/mile/day bike-commuter, so I may have been one of them from time to time). But this story was just a silly excuse to harass people.

I love how these local news stations will call just about anything an 'investigation'.
