Summer Benefits from Big Winter

A a guide, I've personally been keeping an eye on these reports this year, and it's shaping up to be one of those years that you should be too. If you've ever been whitewater rafting and thought, "It's just not what I thought it would be," or "It was cracked up to be more than it was," go to Colorado this summer in the month of June if you can.

This is a terrible picture (I can't seem to enlarge it clearly) but the blue line is 2008, red is average, pink is the legendary low year of 2002 and the yellow is the legendary high-water year of 1995. The graph represents the snow-water equivalency of the Arkansas river above Browns Canyon (one of the most rafted in CO).
The Denver Post just released this article yesterday about the upcoming season, and a river forecast as well. I say again, if you've ever wanted bigger whitewater, June (late May?). Colorado. Big.
