As a young girl growing up in Minnesota, I dreamed of traveling to far-off places. Now my passion for new places, new experiences, and new challenges has taken me around the world.
I've gone to Vespers at Notre Dame Cathedral; stood alone on the summit of an extinct volcano; chugged a Guinness in Galway, Ireland while celebrating St. Patrick's Day; paddled a Canadian river by moonlight; gone skydiving on the south island of New Zealand; climbed in the Colorado Rockies; swum in Lake Superior; had emergency surgery in West Java; and rappelled through a California waterfall. I was once -true story- threatened with death by a British ex-SAS commando.
I try to live by something that YMCA Camp Menogyn director Paul Danicic said in an interview: "Life is a collection of stories - have some good ones."
As for a career, I'm a freelance writer who specializes in all things green:
-travel
-recreation
-building
-environmental issues
-adventure
-education
My services include blogging, writing, editing, and teaching. My current website is www.KissTheRock.com. Soon my all-new and improved website, www.TheGreenWriter.com, will be up and running. I'll keep you posted.
My favorite outdoor activities are climbing rock and ice, hiking, trail running, and canoeing. Other interests: travel, photography, mixed-media art, math (no, seriously, I like it), history, and chess.
