No doub that McCandless was on a different path than most of us. Crazy, mentally disbtured? Who knows? Wall Street types seeing every waking minute as another opportunity to add to their bank acocunts would think most of us crazy for our pursuit of other realities.
First, Medred is an opinion columnist, not a psychologist. Second, Chris's actions might sound just plain stupid to some (probably most) but that doesn't mean he was schizophrenic. And third, Medred's article directs a lot of anger toward Krakauer, which makes me wonder if he's not a little jealous that he didn't think to write the book first.
