Space-saving dishware

created on: 03/23/08

Coleman is introducing an interesting concept in dishware this year for camping, the beach, picnics and the like.

Origami dishware is lightweight, non-stick, odor-free dishware that snaps together for use as cup, bowl, plate, etc., and then unfolds flat for storage.

The full kit, which sells for about $16, includes a folding spoon, dish, cup and bowl, and a storage bag.

Wow, as it doesn't look like they acquired Orikaso, it appears that Coleman is blatantly ripping them off with this new line. Oh well, I guess they say that imitation is the highest form of flattery... :-)

We have used the Orikaso stuff for a couple years. It's a good idea, because there's nothing more awkward to pack than bowls, and it works fairly well. Because it unfolds flat, it's also really easy to clean in camp.
