Did you Wal-Mart today?

I've always had problems with the impact of a Wal-Mart store, on the local buiness community, but more importantly to me, on the environment. I've even avoided shopping there as much as possible.

Now I've heard a bit about some environmental initiatives by the mega-retailer and, in light of the giant's potential for forcing a lot of suppliers (and the buying public) to maybe do some good things, I'm beginning to wonder if I need to reconsider.

Any other thoughts on this?

Last year I saw the WALMART movie & doubt I will ever shop there again. Never really liked their selection anyway & Target once or twice a year is all I need. Living in a forest, an hour from these kinda stores also helps curb my shopping habits & my driving habits as we
We have a no-Walmart rule in our house. (My husband grits his teeth at just the mention of the 'W' word.) But we've also heard about their new environmental initiatives. I hope it gets other retailers on the green bandwagon. That being said, I'm sure we'll still have the no-Walmart rule for other reasons! ;)
I think it's always good to keep an open mind, even when dealing with a retailer like Wal-Mart that has gotten so much bad publicity.
