When I can't get out on the trail as much as I would like, I try to spend some time there mentally with the sounds of nature playing in the background in the office or on the road.

Dan Gibson is one of the masters of blending music with natural sounds, while not losing the individual identities of those natural sounds. He's been at it a while, and some of his best is from the mid-1990s.
