The Petzl e+Lite headlamp is the perfect tuck-it-in-the-back-of-the-pack-and-forget-it emergency lighting system. About the size of a sports watch and weighing less than an ounce, with batteries installed, the little headlamp won’t eat up a lot of space or add to the weight load. Even with the hard-plastic carrying case, the unit tops out at just over 1.5 ounces.And, into that small package, Petzl has packed three white LEDs, capable of throwing a beam 62 feet (in maximum mode).It also has white and red strobe modes for rescue situations, as well as red LED option o preserve night vision.A 10-year shelf life on the headlamp allows for long-term storage in the pack, or wherever else you might need it in an emergency.The unit's head strap also can function as a wristband, and the clip allows for easy mounting on a hat, shirt or backpack shoulder strap. The ball joint that connects the lighting unit to the strap gives the unit 360-degree rotation.
