The backpack that comes with your Camelbak is great, unless you want to carry more than a map or a single granola bar. Attaching the bladder to the outside of your larger pack is difficult (they're so squishy, it's like those water snakes they sell at the beach), and placing the bare bladder inside the pack could puncture its surface. This design aims to provide a protective case for the Camelbak bladder using household (inexpensive) materials.
